Fassbender Joins The Inglorious Bastards

We have been following closely all of the casting news for Quentin Tarantino's remake of The Inglorious Bastards. So far he has been able to rangle in some big names including Brad Pitt and was even in talks with Leonardo DiCaprio. DiCaprio ended up not being cast but Pitt is definitely in. Just yesterday we recieved word that Pegg had to cancel due to scheduling problems.

Today Variety reports that Michael Fassbender is in talks to play the role of Lt. Archie Hicox which was originally goig to be played by Pegg. Pittt has signed on for the lead role as a Tennessee hillbilly who assembles a team of eight Jewish-American soldiers to take on the Nazis. Also on board are Mike Myers and Eli Roth. Tarantino is courting Nastassja Kinski, David Krumholtz and B.J. Novak.
