Tom Cruise and Sam Raimi Team Up On Sleeper

Tom Cruise has been feverishly trying to get back in the game lately after he had that meltdown awhile back. I think most people have really written him off as a nutjob but I say check out Tropic Thunder. The man is seriously back on top of his game. So with the recent announcement of Food Fight and Tourist, I am surprised that he is setting up a new project with Sam Raimi.

Sleeper is a DC/Wildstorm comic book which has drawn quite few looks in Hollywood as the next potential superhero flick. But unfortunately the rights to the film have been tricky to get a hold of. Now with Tom Cruise possibly starring in the film it looks like things will begin to move more quickly on the film. Sam Raimi is simply on board to produce.

Written by Ed Brubaker with art by Sean Phillips, "Sleeper," which ran from 2003-05, centers on an operative whose fusion with an alien artifact makes him impervious to pain and allows him to pass it on to others through skin contact. He is placed undercover in a villainous organization by an intelligence agency and falls for a member of the group, named Miss Misery.
