The Dark Knight Slices the Pineapple Express

All of the early numbers coming out on Friday had Pineapple Express ahead by a mere couple hundred thousand dollars. But overall for the weekend it looks like Batman made himself some fruit cocktail with those Pineapples because once again he comes out on top overall for the weekend.

It seems as though the Pineapple Express just couldn't hold up to the massive pull The Dark Knight has. Beginning on Saturday they pulled in an estimated $10.5 million while Pineapple Express only managed $7.7. The very early estimates for Sunday also show The Dark Knight commanding the box office with $7.9 million compared to $6.8.

This weekend brings The Dark Knights total domestic box office total to $441,541,000. That puts it at number three with the biggest domestic box office total. Right behind Star Wars and Titanic. It will no doubt pass up Star Wars which sits at about $461 million. Titanic is still what is on everybodys mind. It is obvious that The Dark Knights totals keep coming down slowly so we will have to see again how much it manages to wrangle in next week. Stay tuned for the actual box office totals on Monday.
