The Dark Knight Beats Shrek at the Box Office

The Dark Knight has once again broken another box office record this time beating Shrek 2 into the ground. Shrek 2 held the record for crossing the $400million box office mark in 43 days. An impressive feat for sure. Dark Knight has managed to do that in less then half the time. It invites the question how long can Dark Knight keep up its dominance at the box office and will it close in on Star Wars and defeat it.

 

Star Wars brough in $460million and was the 2nd highest grossing film in the box office. It may very well be that as predicted Dark Knight can do it. Now a feat that would be truly impressive would be if it could stay strong and defeat Titanic which brought in over $600million. That one might be tough to pull off but never count the Dark Knight out.  One thing is for certain it wont be long before we are talking about Dark Knight 3.
