Tyrese Gibson Talks Thundercats

Growing up I was really into cartoons. Everything from He-Man, Scooby Doo, Ghost Busters and especially the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. But the other show that I always managed to watch was Thundercats. Recently there was ever a revival in which Thundercats were put back on the air and they even had a couple comic books released as well. Now we get movie talk.

While at Comic Con Tyrese Gibson was on hand talking about Death Race. During the interview he also mentioned that he had been very involved in bringing the film to the big screen. Apparently a deal is very close to being complete but he remained mum on the details. When the question was asked about what role he would be play he just stated that their was a number of options available to him.

Now I'm not really sure where Tyrese would fit in. To me someone that would play Panthro would definitely have to be more bulky than Tyrese. I picture someone like Ving Rhames or Michael Clark Duncan in that kind of role. But with Thundercats he could really be anybody. Of course this leaves the question of what kind of movie is this?

Comingsoon mentions that last year Warner Bros. Pictures had a CG Animated film in the works directed by Jerry O' Flaherty. Of course since that was in the works over a year ago it is likely that plan may have fallen through the cracks. We shall see in the coming weeks if anything happens and we will be the first to let you know.
