Alex Proyas NOT Directing Silver Surfer

Earlier there was a rumor running the web that Alex Proyas was being scouted to direct the upcoming Silver Surfer movie which has gone into some serious limbo it seems. Well today at Comic Con Alex let it be known there is zero truth to it. He will not be directing the movie.   Alex Proyas is visionary and if anyone could have done that movie right it would have been him. The problem is you still have the taint  of the candy kiddy Fantastic Four movie which pretty much ruined any passion for another film for fanboys.   Both Fantastic Four movies left a really bad taste in my mouth that not even Jessica Alba could salvage. So in order for this Surfer movie to appeal me some pretty serious changes in writing, visuals and directing would have to happen. I like the Fantastic Four Comics, and The Silver Surfer is a great character but 2 bad films have jaded me to the concept.
