Well since Sam Raimi has shut down the Ash project it was time the studio thought up some new gimmick. Cassie Hack is a lone surviving female slasher victim, who instead of going back to her normal life morphs herself into a hard as nails fighter who takes other slashers one on one because she doesn't want anyone else to go through what she went through.

Sounds really corny if you ask me. Even the name sounds terrible, Cassie HACK? They should have just brought in the guy from Guns N Roses Slash to be in the movie.
