Hollywood North Reporter has learned that a new movie titled "Young Merlin" has currently been optioned as is scheduled to begin shooting by years end.
"Written by Robert Kahn, and envisioned as the first chapter in a three-part franchise, Young Merlin will be a live-action feature combined with CG technology. The project, budgeted at $25 million, chronicles the life of Merlin as a boy in Fifth Century Britainnia following the departure of the Romans.
The producers have also acquired MachineFx, of Harry Potter fame, to co-ordinate the film's extensive CG effects."
