Parents Should your Kids see Dark Knight? Its a good question. One that we have discussed here. Should your kids be seeing Dark Knight? I would have to say no depending on their age. I would say 13 or older they can definitely handle Dark Knight but under that age unless you plan on giving them violent nightmares it is probably best to pass on Dark Knight. Jill who we can assume is a parent wrote in the following;

This movie needed an R rating due to the sadistic violence and disturbing images throughout.  I wish I had not seen it.  While I applaud the acting, parents need to be warned that the tone of this film is grossly sugar coated when it is referred to by reviewers as "dark".  I would strongly encourage parents to not take children or young adults to see this film.

This movie is not for kids. I made the mistake of taking my ten-year old son and wound up leaving early, and wishing I had not exposed him to such intensely violent subject matter.

The movie is well made with great performances by everyone, but this version of Batman has absolutely no place in the imagination of a kid, probably up to early teenagers.

Though it is rated PG13, Dark Knight doesn't feel like a summer superhero movie. In tone and intensity, it feels like more like an R-rated crime drama. Unless they are teenagers, leave them at home.

I agree the movie is sadistic, violent, disturbing and also one of the best and biggest movies of the year. That all said 3 out of 4 of those components are absolutely not suitable for youn children... regardless of how the MPAA rated the movie. Are you taking your kids? Sound off in the comments. Agree?
