First Zombie Movie in True 3d: ApocalypsoPosted by:"Apocalypso", the first ever zombie feature shot using 3D exhibition technology, will be going into production spring 2005. This is neither a satire, nor a farce, but a fast moving zombie action movie along the lines of the traditional zombie mythos set in downtown Tucson, Arizona and the desert beyond, complete with actual nuclear missile facilities and real ICMBs. The slug line says it all: There's only one rule - get 'em in the head. Without throwing names around, the producers are award winning professionals from Los Angeles and Tucson who are collaborating to produce the first zombie movie originally shot in both English and Spanish with a bilingual cast for maximum audience appeal. The chief make-up effects designer is the same who designed the FX make-up for The Passion of Christ, Van Helsing, Hannibal, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Blade II, plus there will be a few surprise zombie cameos to create an unforgettable zombie movie experience with everything from flashy automatic weapons to weapons of mass destruction. Whether you wear the 3D glasses for eye protection or just to enjoy the 3D experience, this will be the first zombie movie ever photographed in 3D, making the DVD an instant collector's item. Most of the production assets for "Apocalypso" have already been acquired by the producers with the remaining $75,000 in expendables being developed from private sources for principal photography in and around the metro Tucson area, where the downtown can be completely closed off for night shooting, unlike larger cities that could not absorb the total disruption of traffic. Currently, tests are being performed on the new 3D technology before pre-production gets into full swing. Look for more on this in the future! |
