Sean A. Reids Redemption Reviews

Redemption is an indie film by Sean A Reid that is one of the highest rated films on our site right now. I wanted to take a minute and put the spotlight on this movie yet again. It is tied on the #1 spot on our top 10 fan picked movies. With that said here are what some people who have bought this movie have had to say

In recent years, it seems that Hollywood's biggest stars have been turning to the world of independent films to find material of substance. From Monster's Ball, In The Bedroom and Boy's Don't Cry, to this years Monster, actors and actresses have proved that you can do more, with less. Less money, less time and less of Hollywood's gloss.

Redemption takes this exercise to the next level, proving very little can go a long way. It is refreshing to see that unknown directors and talent have the same thirst as their multimillion dollar counterparts and also the same high standards of artistic integrity. In addition, director Sean Reid proves he is more than up to the challenge of handling his own, self realized, redemption's narrative with honesty and humor.

This semi-documentary film is raw, edgy and powerful. Our introduction to leads Brian White and Tracy Stone proves that there is no lack of fresh young talent out there. And I for one, am sure that this is merely the first of many times we will see these actors on the silver screen. Hopefully, the Hollywood machine will take notice and give young talent, such as this, more opportunities to shine.

Powerful, witty, raw and suprisingly fun. I recommend Redemption to all who have an interest in the human condition

And one more review to top that one

A gritty story such as this needs amazing actors and actresses to pull it off. And despite a pretty much no name cast, they certainly do. TJ Storm was fantastic as Melique (a bit underutilized perhaps). Tracey Stone is also very compelling as Claire. And hopefully people won't overlook Scottie Tate, who was simply outstanding and genuinely funny.

I could have done without the timecode credits, which greatly distracted me from the first scene. Also I didn't particularly care for the picture in picture editting (think PhoneBooth with Colin Farrell). The dialogue also got very heavy handed at times.

Still this is a very compelling movie which sets it apart from the average cookie cutter flick.
