Super Size Me Review by Ski
Posted by:i watched Supersize Me last night, lol man it was pretty good. For those not in the know, its about a guys views on the obesity of America. He embarks on a rather strange and apparently harmful diet of exclusivly McDonalds crusine for a full 30 days. During these 30 days there are three simple rules:
1. he must eat only McDonalds for three squares a day.
2. he must get supersized only if asked
3. he has to eat everything on the menu at least once.
i always knew that fast food wasnt good for you, but none the less i ate it quite a bit as i was growing up. hell the first time i went somewhere "far away" without my parents was to the local mcdonalds heh. this guys goes to quite the extreme here though. he evolves from a perfectly healthy late twenties early thirties man, into an unhealthy individual with a fattly liver on the brink of expiring. i also got a kick out of the possibilities that he had become "addicited to this type of food, he claims it made him feel better when he ate it.
he shows all his doctor visits and checkups throught his experiment to prove his points that fast food is infact harmful. the basis of the movie is the lawsuit of 2 young girls sueing mcdonalds for making them fat, and losing. i feel that sueing someone for something you voluntarily do is lucicris, but i guess this movie's director doesnt. buisness is a crazy thing, and most make millions off the common folks quite easily. i agree that some go too far, but i still believe we as the common folks have the choice to partake or not.
at anyrate, it was a good entertaining watch. the facts seemed to be in order and believable. i thought the score he uses during the entire movie was awsome. i'll still eat at micky d's on occasion. my age and knowledge has improved since that first walk across the highway for me. but the urge to slam down a number 4 (no longer able to supersize) with an orange drink is sometimes too great to avoid.
by the way imo mcdonalds orange drink is THE absolute best thing for a hangover, the burgers are a tad rough however.
