Mad Max The Roads most wanted is going to pay tribute to the great run away train scene from Mad Max. The latest update from the director was emailed to me today.
Thanks a many bunch for putting my project, "The Road's Most Wanted", on your site. Though the winter season is already upon me with two days of heavy snow falls, that didn't stop me from going for a crazy drive in the weather to do some brain storming.
Winter does pose a challenge but because of its artistic merit, I'll put Austin Pike to the challenge of tackling nomads amongst the cold harsh winter landscape-- side swiping the subtle tribute to "Runaway Train"--
for a segment anyways...
The movie has an interesting principal, one that the Director created the character for almost 20 years ago. His name is Austin Pike (not to be confused with the bastardization of the name in the 1996 movie "Austin Powers"). The director says he wants people to see another tribute to the Mad Max films and "The Road's Most Wanted" does just that. It doesn't take place during "The Road Warrior" but it takes place during the time of "Mad Max".
While "The Road's Most Wanted" aka "Corpse Road" is in development, he is shooting an independant feature called "The Maloy Situation". The film is about a chronic alcoholic who, after losing his family, house and job decides to quit drinking. However, the controversy is this: He stops drinking for one reason and one reason only-- he can't afford it.
Then suddenly, he wins 55 million dollars. There will be two versions of the film.
(1): The first version is 15 minutes long and will be pitched to a program that broadcasts independant films called "ZED" which is on the CBC network.
(2): The second version is the feature length film that will be pitched to film festivals and so- on.
Thanks to Tom Millan for giving us these updates on his projects, we look forward to hearing more from him.
