Brett Ratner to Direct Beverly Hills Cop 4

Paramount is busy right now raking in all of the cash that Indiana Jones is bringing them. But it appears they still want more so they are digging deep into their vaults and pulled out Beverly Hills Cop. Funny thing about is that Eddie Murphy actually approached them about the project. So yes, he will reprise his role as the wise-cracking Detroit detective Axel Foley.

Today Variety is reporting that Paramount is in negotiations with Brett Ratner to direct the film. I'm not one of the huge Ratner haters but I think this is the best kind of film for him. Something that is very similar to his successful run on the Rush Hour franchise. Currently the studio is looking to get this into production by 2009 and release it in the summer of 2010. So we won't be hearing to much about this film for quite some time to come.
