Robocop in 3-D?!

Not long ago we mentioned that a remake was going to come down the line from MGM. Unfortunately we had no information about what they planned to do with the proposed film. But today a nice morsel of news has come down from MGM's new chairperson Mary Parent.

Parent recently told Indiewire, "'RoboCop" would be great in 3-D, as would something we're hoping to announce soon." Now if they plan on doing anything with this franchise the best they could do would be to make it in 3-D. There really is nothing they could do by simply remaking the first without doing it in 3-D. I think that makes the idea of possibly doing a remake credible.

Hopefully they plan on putting a lot of money behind this movie and making it a big summer picture. I want to see plenty of carnage and mayhem. A straight up popcorn flick that is fun and full of explosions. Robocop has always had a little bit of a moral story to it but as long as that is kept to a minimum I will be a happy man.
