Joining the ranks of "Dukes of Hazzard" and "Bewitched", as tv shows currently being remade, is Dallas.
"Robert Luketic is in negotiations to direct the big-screen version of the hit TV show "Dallas" for Regency Enterprises. Michael Costigan and the TV series' creator David Jacobs are producing, with Peter Cramer overseeing for Regency. Robert Harling, whose credits include 1989's "Steel Magnolias," wrote the screenplay. The long-running primetime soap about a wealthy Texas oil family originally ran on CBS from 1978-91. "Dallas" joins such TV titles as "Charlie's Angels," "I Spy" and the upcoming "Dukes of Hazzard" and "Bewitched" in getting big-screen makeovers. Luketic is in postproduction on New Line Cinema's "Monster-in-Law," starring Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda, which will be released next year. He also has directed "Win a Date With Ted Hamilton!" and "Legally Blonde."

The series follows the lives of several wealthy families live, love, and lust in the oil-driven world of Dallas, Texas. Starring Larry Hagman as the nefarious J.R. Ewing, the series also boasts a talented supporting cast, including Barbara Bel Geddes, Patrick Duffy, Victoria Principal, Jim Davis, Linda Gray, Charlene Tilton, and many more. The show lasted 13 seasons.
