Shadow Riders Comes to DVD

Emmy® nomineeSam Elliot (Tombstone), Golden Globe® winner Katharine Ross (The Graduate) and Golden Globe® nominee Geoffrey Lewis (TV’s “Flo”), will be released on DVD May 13 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.  The gritty Western, based on the popular novel by best-selling author Louis L’Amour, will be available for $22.97 SRP.

L’Amour’s career as a popular Western writer spanned the course of 30 years and included the publication of over 100 novels, non-fiction stories and short story collections.  Additional L’Amour novels adapted into TV movies are “Hondo,” “The Sacketts,” “The Quick and the Dead,” and “Shaughnessy.”

At the close of the Civil War, brothers Mac (Selleck) and Dal Traven (Elliot), who battled on opposing sides, return home to discover that their family, including their younger brother, sisters and Dal’s fiancé Kate Connery (Ross), have been kidnapped by rebel guerrillas who refuse to accept the defeat of the Confederacy.  Mac and Dal help their Uncle Black Jack break out of jail and set out to rescue their sisters and Kate who are in danger of being sold as slaves to a Mexican brothel.
