Who is Jason in the Friday the 13th Remake?

Usually when a horror remake is announced I get a little ticked off that they have decided to rape another franchise. But when Platinum Dunes announced they were going to relaunch the entire Friday the 13th series I thought it would probably work. The FD13 films only need a couple things to be really good. A killer in a hockey mask and some dumb teens in a cabin at Camp Crystal Lake. It's a simple formula that is near impossible to mess up.

The only thing that some people are really worried about is who will be the next guy to don the hockey mask. Personally I would love to see Kane Hodder take the lead once again. I always felt like he knocked it out of the park in Part VII. Today however Fangoria spoke with frequent Platinum Dunes actor Michael Bailey Smith about his possibility in the role.

"I can tell you that their interest in me is pretty strong." Smith told the site. "There would be more of the ferociousness in the character, kind of like the way I played Pluto in THE HILLS HAVE EYES. My Jason would be a nonstop, relentless killer. I would love to bring that kind of energy and physicality to the role. It would be great to put on the mask and to be able to take on such an iconic character.”

I would like to see Smith in the role. He has done a lot of work playing monsters and killers in the past. I really hope they go with an actor and not just some wrestler in a mask. We have seen that and the results were not good. Keep it here for the final word on who is cast as Jason.
