Raimi Settles it: Freddy vs Jason vs Ash Movie

Sam Raimi has said completely clearly that NO WAY will there be a Freddy vs Jason vs Ash Movie. And I say Amen Sam, dont throw away a great character like Ash in a lame cross mixing of movie genres. With that said when Sam Raimi was asked who would win such a fight he had the following to say.

"I don't know, can you kill Freddy or Jason? I think Bruce Campbell woulda' kicked their asses. First I think they would have had their way with him in probably 80 minutes of punishing him which I would have enjoyed."

Originally apparently Sam Raimi was considering it, since he wants to deliver to his fans, but has decided it just wont work. I respect his judgement. Sam Raimi is known for good cult classics and smash hits now with his Spider Man movies. I am glad hes not jumping at just any old idea to cash in. When asked why he decided not to do the film he said:

"I wanted to give the fans what they want with that. It's hard to know what the fans want with that, if that was the proper treatment. I just don't know. I don't think so. As fun as that sounded, I think they're in two different worlds, the Evil Dead and Jason/Freddy. Maybe another time, that would be a better combination."

Consider this rumor squashed, at least until somebody changes their mind again :)
