Chow Interested in The Green Hornet

Stephen Chow is easily one of the top directors coming out of Asia in recent years. He had directed and acted in Shaolin Soccer, Kung Fu Hustle and most recently CJ7. While he was out promoting his latest film CJ7 Comingsoon had a chance to sit down and ask him a couple question. Now Seth Rogen has been given the duty of re-writing The Green Hornet script which was originally penned by Kevin Smith. Rogen has gone on record saying he would love for Chow to play Kato. Armed with that knowledge they asked Chow if he was interested:

"After explaining to Chow and his interpreter who Seth Rogen was—Chow may have been jetlagged or slightly confused, or just acting that way to avoid answering questions, but he knew who we were talking about when we said that Rogen played the police officer in Superbad. He seemed genuinely pleased that Rogen might think of him, though he hasn't been approached, thinking that maybe Rogen doesn't have his contact info. Chow then asked if we might have Rogen's number, so he could get in touch, and offered to give us his number, so we could arrange a meeting."

This is really great news if you ask me. Bruce Lee as many of you know was the original Kato and I am a HUGE Bruce Lee fan. But with Seth Rogen writing the new script and having the potential comic genius from Asia Stephen Chow up for the role.. Color me excited. Keep it here for more.
