Del Toro Considering Dr. Strange Movie

A film based on the Marvel supero hero Dr. Strange has been floating around for quite some time. As a matter of fact David S. Goyer even wrote a script for the project awhile back. Now in an interview with EmpireOnline, director Guillermo del Toro expressed some interest in the project.

"I talked with Neil Gaiman [about writing it]," he told the site. "I said, that’s an interesting character because you can definitely make him more in the pulpy occult detective/magician mould and formula than was done in the Weird Tales, for example...the idea of a character that really dabbles in the occult in a way that’s not X-Filey, where the supernatural is taken for granted. That’s interesting...But I wouldn't use the suit!"

Neil Gaiman would be an interesting choice having used Dr. Strange as a central character in a spin off series 1602 for Marvel. Personally I've never been a huge fan of Dr. Strange but if Guillermo del Toro ever really did find the time to actually direct this film.. I would be in the front of the line to catch it.
