David Slade's Doing The Unthinkable

Posted by: Luke

David Slade first burst unto the scene with his fantastic little film Hard Candy which was also the jumping off point for Ellen Page. Slade then decided to take a swing at the modern vampire with 30 Days of Night which was definitely not as good as his previous flick but it was an interesting take on vampire lore.

Now according to The Hollywood Reporter David Slade is going to direct "Unthinkable" for Sidney Kimmel Entertainment. The flick delves into psychological manipulation centering on the interrogation of a man who knows the location of three nuclear weapons set to detonate in the U.S.

I think this is back to where Slade works best. He can direct high tension moments with little to minimal space for the camera to move. He is perfect at capturing that moment of terror on someone's face. Something that most directors don't even try to do. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this one turns out.

The film has been scripted by Peter Woodward and Oren Moverman. They are currently in pre-production and casting with a summer start date in mind.
