Venom Getting His Own Film?

Spiderman 3 was chock full of brand new villians and unfortunately none of them were gived a proper backstory. Such is the case with Eddie Brock aka Venom who was played by Topher Grace. From the get go I thought Topher was horrible for the part. Brock was alway a big hulking dude in the comics and thats why when he got the symbiote costume he looked monstrous. If you remember when Peter Parker got it in the movie it didn't change his body shape at all.

Well hopefully this will all change when Venom gets his own movie. This news comes from IESB and according to them it sounds like Sony might not own the character rights to Venom. Apparently Marvel owns the rights and are negotiating a deal with someone to give the coolest villian in the Spidey comics his own film.

My hope for the film is that they bring on board more villians from the Spider-Man universe as well. I would love to see Venom battle Carnage! Or maybe bring back the Sinister Six. It should be interesting to see where they go with this. Keep it here and we will let you know if anything official is announced soon.
