The Wolf Man Meets The X-Men?

Just a few days ago it was announced that Mark Romanek had left the remake of the classic 1941 film The Wolf Man. He had worked tediously on the film with Rick Baker and Benicio del Toro before he had some problems with the budget and decided he was going to bow out.

Since that time a couple of names have been dropped including Matt Reeves but recently he has already opted to direct Cloverfield 2. Other names that have been mentioned include Breck Eisner. Today however Ain't It Cool News has learned that Brett Ratner (X-Men 3) has been thrown in as a possible director as well over at Universal.

This is a horrible call if you ask me. Ratner can do action and he can bring in big bucks from the box office but every film he has made has been rather forgettable. I'm not a big fan of Ratners but I don't have a bounty on his head either. I just don't think he can handle a film that is supposed to be a horror period piece.

Benicio del Toro has long been attached as the title character, Larry Talbot. Recently added to the cast have been Anthony Hopkins as his father and Emily Blunt as the female lead. Be sure to keep it here and as soon as Romaneks replacement is officially announced we will let you know.
