Cloverfield Box Office Numbers

Say what you might about the marketing of Cloverfield but its not just a monster movie its a monster at the box office. The movie was marketed primarily using viral video and the power of social networking. It irritated fans and it excited fans all in one. Regardless the movie which cost $20million to make has made $16million in its opening day. Whats this mean? This means the movie is going to be a SMASH hit. I will not be at all surprised to see this movie go on to make over $300million.
