Gimme Skelter Available on DVD

Here at MoviesOnline we have always had a soft spot for indie film makers. I have seen tons and tons of indie films and I am always rooting for these guys. What some of you may not realize is that there are hundreds of great indie films out there that you may never see. There is one guy who I think you all should be made aware of now, Scott Phillips.

We have been covering his films since he came out with Stink of Flesh. A low budget zombie flick with a little bit of everything. It was really at a time before the huge boom of zombie flicks. Even if that film had been released now though I still would have loved it because it is still something that no one has even come close to try and attempt. A very unique film in its own right.

Now Scott has come out once again with a fantastic tale of Charlie Manson's son coming back to cause more havoc than his father in a little town, Banions Cross, NM. I recently was lucky enough to see the film and I can tell you first hand this is a film you do not want to miss out on (My review).

Unfortunately however no one has been willing to step up to the plate and give him a decent distribution deal. So Phillips is going to be teaming up with one of his friends and actor in both of his films, Kurly Tlapoyawa, to distribute it themselves. Kurly actually owns a little label called Burning Paradise Entertainment.

"This is a pretty big and somewhat nerve-wracking experiment for us, and we really need the support of horror fans (and fans of indie filmmaking) to make it work." Scott tells us. "Everything's changing in the marketplace these days and Kurly and I believe that self-distribution is the wave of the future for low-budget filmmakers."

So right now he is setting up Pre-orders for the DVD which are going for $15 (plus $4.25 shipping/handling within the US, $6.00 for international orders). And, in honor of the (rapidly-dwindling) population of Banion's Cross, NM (the fictional town from the movie), the first 67 orders will receive the signed and numbered limited edition, autographed by star Gunnar Hansen and several other members of the cast and crew.

So it would mean a lot to the film maker and everyone involved in the project if you would help them out. If you don't want to purchase a copy at least pass on the word to that someone you know who might. Word of mouth is always an indie film makers friend and with your help hopefully Scott can help pay off his gambling debts!
