Red Princess Blue's CompletedPosted by: PuppetMaster A long while back I gave you the first look at a new film called Red Princess Blues which is being directed by somebody I now call a friend. He thinks he is Robert Rodriguez some days of the week, but lucky for him he has the talent to back it up as proven in his last project BROKEN which is still to this day in my top 3 indie films ever watched. I am a strong believer that if a producer believed in Alex and gave him a bit of money he could be pumping out the next cutting edge film for nickles to turn into a tidy profit and a kick ass film for fans if somebody would believe in him. You wait one day he will be rich and famous and to important to talk to me. So back on topic, Alex's new animated Red Princess short is now complete! Red Princess Blues Animated: The Book of Violence is an animated short film prequel to Alex Ferrari’s upcoming feature film Red Princess Blues starring the lovely Paula Garces. Artist extraordinaire and Creative Director of the Visual Effects House Numb Robot (http://www.numbrobot.com), Dan Cregan makes his directorial debut. RPB Animated is a chance to explore the world of “Princess,†the main character of Red Princess Blues. The film is done completely hand drawn with a few shoots using 3-D and pays homage to the great Japanese Anime films of the past.
In this tale we meet her as a 12 year old little girl who finds herself in a strange country looking for her father. She is then taken in by a “unique†looking man who goes by Nino. The short film is completely from the perspective of Princess and what she is going through. She soon discovers the “Book of Violence†and slowly begins her journey that one day will lead to vengeance. Go to the official site at the link above to learn more about the film and look for my personal review of it in the near future.
