2 New Hellboy 2 The Golden Army Poster!

Posted by: PuppetMaster
We have added two new posters for the upcoming Hellboy 2 movie from the official site. We had the chance to sit down with Guillermo Del Toro ( Director ) and Doug Jones ( The star who plays, Abe ) to talk about Hellboy 2, as part of our series of interviews for Pans Labyrinth some months back. Both are very excited about this new project and from the sounds of things it is progressing along nicely.

Doug Jones tell us that in this one he is going to get a bigger chance to shine, with more meat to his character, Abe.
I am very excited about what's up for Abe. I'm currently in negotiations now with my own personal contract so I can't say it's a done deal yet but I'm very hopeful that we'll come to terms. When that happens, I'm told that- - I have a script waiting for me at home right now. I've been up in Vancouver. I just got home this morning. I did a night shoot last night, I was wrapped for the picture, good night, bye, that's it for Doug and I got on a plane to come talk to y'all. I haven't been to bed yet. That's why I'm talking crazy talk. But I'm told that Abe is on a more equal playing level of "Hellboy” this time. He's got way more storyline, he has his hands on the bad guys, and he might have a love interest. Not sure, but he might. So there's a lot to look forward to.
Guillermo Del Toro is also very pleased with the progress he is making. Despite being with a different studio it would seem that so far it is smooth sailing, quote.
Right now, I can tell you that we may argue about budget, and we may argue about size versus cost, but creatively I have been in heaven, so far. It was, actually, creatively a great experience on the first one, but I think the difference is, going into it the first time, with a movie called "Hellboy,” with a guy that looks like he has two plastic cups on his forehead, and people chewing their nails to know what the character is, is a great difference. We’ll see, at the end of the ride. No ride is safe. There is no handlebar on these things. You ride the roller coaster without any protection.
Guillermo really does have a way with words doesnt he? You gotta respect a guy with his kinda talent and ability to get things done, new studio, budget differences, or not. One of the concerns was whether he was preparing this film to be the last, or if he would leave it open for a third, his response was:
We always do that. We created the first one and said, ‘If there’s a second one, great. If there’s not a second one, great.’ We go into the second one the same way. It is my hope that we would be allowed to do the trilogy, but you don’t know.
I really enjoyed the HellBoy movie and think with some work a sequel has some great promise for fans of the series. When a Nazi mystical experiment goes awry in 1944, the target of a wizard's spell, the child of Satan, Hellboy, is wrenched from his home, and adopted by the U.S. agents who intercept his arrival. Raised as a force of good, Hellboy grows up to be a full-fledged demon in the form of a man, complete with fierce red skin, a tail, a giant armored glove, and two large circles where his horns should be (if they ever grow back, Hellboy is quick to break them off).
