House’s Hugh Laurie Gets Back to WorkPosted by: JerricaAfter leaving the Los Angeles set of Fox’s acclaimed sensation “House” last week for his home of London, England, Hugh Laurie came back to work on Monday (filming continued in his absence as the crew worked around his sudden leave due to family obligations abroad), expressing sentiments that he misses his family. Laurie’s wife and children still live in his native Britain while Laurie works 14 hours a day five days a week across the pond. According to reports relayed by Us Magazine, Laurie said he’s been battling “mild depression” and the schedule of the series has “drained” him. Laurie’s obsessive nature over his performance as the main character on “House” keep him replaying scenes in his head, beating himself up over mistakes or thinking how he could have done something better. He also said that when he received the first four pages of the script, he thought it was very good, and then upon reading the entire pilot, he realized misanthropic Gregory House was the main character. Laurie is obviously feeling the pressure of having a huge success that’s been going strong for more than three seasons now. Currently in its fourth season with its regular formulaic cast in a brilliant upheaval, “House” seems to be keeping fans as happy as ever and Laurie is filling the spotlight as stellarly as possible, so maybe he can take a breath and relax, rather than stressing it, and be as happy as the fans are with his performance.
