Warner Brothers Rejects Films with Female Leads?

Posted by: Michael
My friend John put me onto this story. He pretty much put out a call to action to bring attention to this sexist attitude and for a BoyCott of all Warner Brothers Films. Bold! Why ? Because apparently Warner Brothers will not even consider making a movie with a female lead. The source of this? A producer who does or did work with Warner Brothers, via DeadLine Hollywood. Here is what the writer writes, quote:
Of course, Warner Bros has always been male-centric in its movies. But now the official policy as expressly articulated by Robinov is that a male has to be the lead of every pic made. I'm told he doesn't even want to see a script with a woman in the primary position (which now is apparently missionary at WB). Oh yeah, the fact that so many Warner Bros movies have been sucking at the box office for the last two years is all the fault of females.
First off I have no comments on this. I am going to contact WB who have always been good to this site and see if I can get a response to this and then I will share my comments with both sides of the story. To me it seems INSANE that in this day and age any studio would reject films based on the lead being male or female. Something smells funny. Why am I posting if I think it smells funny? Because my friend John at TheMovieBlog is a great guy who doesnt post drivel. There is something to this and we will get to the bottom of it, all 60minutes style.
