Russell Mulcahy directing Mortal Kombat part 3+4

"The unofficial Mortal Combat 3 Movie Page" reports, that director Russell Mulcahy ("Highlander", "Ricochet") signed to direct the next 2 sequels to "Mortal Kombat". The 3rd movie is titled "Mortal Kombat: Devastation", and the working title for the 4th is "Mortal Kombat: Warzone".

 

It is said, that due to the poor attitude surrounding "Mortal Kombat: Annihilation", Threshold Entertainment is aiming to completely forget the 2nd movie and having "Mortal Kombat: Devastation" as direct sequel to the first movie.

 

The confirmed actors for the 3rd movie are, Christopher Lambert ("Lord Rayden"), Linden Ashpy ("Johnny Cage") and Chris Casamassa ("Scorpion").

 

Shooting for "Mortal Kombat: Devestation" will begin end of October to early November, in Australia and China. Filming "Mortal Kombat: Warzone" will probably depend, on how well the 3rdrt does at the box office.
