Star Wars TV Series: Clone Wars?

Lots of speculation on the Star Wars TV series, and after doing some looking here is some more information. Apparently George Lucas is a big fan of Samurai Jack and if he does decide to allow a Star Wars TV series he wants Tartakovsky to be involved with his franchise.

There was already a cartoon short done in November of 2003 which went nowhere in a hurry, it was called Star Wars Clone Wars. It picks up where the movie Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones left off. An epic civil war pits the Republic against the Dark Side and the cartoon series is about this war.

Although the series was cancelled it did win an Emmy. I wonder if Lucas is considering bringing this back to life. Myself I prefer it not be a cartoon, but rather a mini-movie series. We will all just have to wait and see.
