BILL, which screened to enthusiastic audiences at the Toronto International Film Festival, has been picked up for Canadian distribution, it was announced today by Maple Pictures’ Co-Presidents Brad Pelman and Laurie May.
BILL is a quirky comedy helmed by first-time directors Melisa Wallack and Bernie Goldmann. The film stars Aaron Eckhart, Jessica Alba, Elizabeth Banks and Timothy Olyphant and will receive its Canadian theatrical release in Spring 2008.
“It's a romantic movie that delivers more laughs than any movie we've seen in ages,” says Brad Pelman. Co-President Laurie May adds, “We have been interested in BILL since script stage and think the film really delivers. We are very excited to work on its release, especially on the heels of our upcoming comedy GOOD LUCK CHUCK, also starring Jessica Alba.”
“We’re thrilled that Maple will be our partner in Canada,” says John Penotti, GreeneStreet’s Founding Partner and President, “Their appreciation for the film is infectious. We hope to continue our partnership and duplicate this arrangement for many of our upcoming films.”
