Roger Cormans Eat MY Dust on DVD Sept 25th

Roger Cormans Eat My Dust is coming to DVD Sept 25th. In 1976, fledgling actor-director Ron Howard made a deal with the Prince of Popcorn Cinema, Roger Corman that would change the course of filmmaking forever! Corman would produce Howard’s feature directorial debut, Grand Theft Auto, if Howard would star in his quirky car comedy EAT MY DUST. Written and directed by Charles B. Griffith (Corman’s Little Shop of Horrors) EAT MY DUST is the story of Hoover Niebold (Ron Howard), a small-town teen destined to fade into obscurity until he gets the guts to ask out the most popular girl in school, who says she’ll only hitch up with him if he steals a professional race car.

He drops his innocence, snags the ride and the girl, and the chase ensues! The film is noted for its brilliant low budget camera work, especially during the chase scenes when Corman and Griffith attached cameras to the hoods of speeding cars to induce some added nausea in audiences, and its balance of teen angst and comic irony in the form of rural bumpkins and middle-class stereotypes.

Perfect for car fans, cult fans or both, EAT MY DUST: SUPERCHARGED EDITION burns rubber with fantastic special features such as “How to Crash on a Dime,” a making-of featurette exploring filmmaking from the Corman perspective—cheap, cheap, cheap! Plus, check out the film’s original trailer.
