Nicholas Cage is Magnum PI?

So if Ben Affleck, Tom Selleck and Matthew McConaughey all turn down the role of Magnum PI who do you turn to? Nicholas Cage of course. According to reports ( via FilmStalker ) he is in talks to star in the tv show turned movie. Frankly I have no idea why anyone wants to make a Magnum PI much less cast Nicholas Cage in the role.
 
Its a shame Tom Selleck doesnt want to do the role, but then again he is quite a bit older right now and may just be smart enough to know that and doesnt want to get cast into something he cant do.
