Tom Savini not in Land of the Dead?

According to Rigor Mortis who emailed us this morning Tom Savini is no longer involved in Land of the Dead. Rigor Mortis emailed us and said that when he contacted Tom Savini he was told that the role had been filled with a Canadian. Could this be why he has been so grumpy as of late with the fans? Here is an excerpt of Rigor Mortis's Email.

Hi fellow Zombie lovers!
I recently contacted Tom Savinis people to do an interview To my shock and dismay this was the response I recieved:

"I'm pretty sure Tom's role was given to a Canadian. So even mentioning that film to him may be a sore subject. I'll ask him today when we speak and get back to you." -reliable source

I recieved another email stating that I WILL recieve details to back this up and clarify the situation. I'll let you all know ASAP.

Needless to say that we appreciate RM letting us know about this and we will let you know what comes of this.

Update:
The latest is that Tom Savini may in fact have a role, all be it a small one. No doubt Canadian grant regulations play into this. Canadian Film Grants require that a certain amount of roles are played by Canadians. I support this idea, since if the Canadian government is funding your movie, you should at least use some canadians, or make your movie elsewhere. Jeff Monahan has lost his role.
