House SoundTrack Features House Himself!

Before Fox’s medical mystery success “House” returns for its fourth season on Sept. 25, you might want to pick up the series’ first soundtrack on Sept. 18.

The soundtrack will feature Ben Harper, Gomez, Lucinda Williams, Joe Cocker, and according to the report at E!Online, there will be previously unreleased tracks from Sarah McLachlan and Elvis Costello. And of course the show’s theme “Teardrop” by Massive Attack.

Perhaps the most interesting thing about the soundtrack is a cover of the Rolling Stones song that has been the undeclared mantra of Dr. Gregory House, “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” because the Band from TV is covering it. Who is the Band from TV? Well, it’s “House” himself Golden Globe winner Hugh Laurie’s group with Greg Grunberg (“Heroes”), James Denton (“Desperate Housewives”), Bonnie Somerville (the upcoming ABC show “Cashmere Mafia”) and Bob Guiney (“The Bachelor”).
