Heroes Brings On The StarsPosted by: JerricaNBC’s hit “Heroes†is gearing up for its second season and they’re already announcing more casting surprises, pulling in stars of old, new and the recently cancelled. First, following their casting of “Star Trek†star George Takei as Hiro’s father in Season One, they’ve recently announced the casting of Nichelle Nichols, famous for playing Lt. Uhura, as the grandmother (Nana) of Monica, the new hero from New Orleans. According to the report by ComingSoon, she will appear in the fourth episode of the season, and her character Nana’s daughter died in Hurricane Katrina. Meanwhile, Janel Parrish, a fresh face from “Bratz: The Movie,†will appear for three episodes as May, the head cheerleader at Claire’s new school. And finally, Kristen Bell, “Veronica Mars†herself, will be jumping onboard as a new player whose allegiances are not immediately clear. Her character Elle is set to appear in October in a story-arc that will be “sexy, intriguing, mysterious†and have ties to major events past, present and future. “Heroes†is clearly racking up the stars while the show itself burns bright as a major player, taking advantage of not only the era of the superhero, but quenching the thirst of television fans for better quality programming of the good old-fashioned fictional breed as opposed to reality nauseum.
