ABC developing 'Rosemary's Baby' for TV !Posted by:According to SciFi Wire, ABC is developing a four-hour miniseries based on Ira Levin's classic horror novel "Rosemary's Baby". The network recently acquired the television rights to the book as well as its sequel, "Son of Rosemary".
"Rosemary's Baby" tells the story of a young woman who becomes pregnant with Satan's child. Barbara Lieberman (Executive Producer) said, that the TV-Miniseries will be telling the story of the first book very detailed, but will likely pick up the story years later, when Rosemary's son becomes a teenager. Lieberman said: "This is the seminal psychological horror film of all time, and I think it will make a huge television event. The title is familiar to younger audiences, but they haven't necessarily seen it." The first book was first addapted for cinemas by Roman Polanski in 1968. It starred Mia Farrow and John Cassavetes. Polanski, who also directed, had a huge success with this film. It truely is one of the best Horror-Movies of all time. Not many movies are that scary and frightening, without showing much effects. It really is a masterpiece of modern Horror-Movies. It was no surprise, someone made a sequel. "Look what's happened to Rosemary's Baby" came out in 1976. It was made for TV and tells the story, of the now adult Adrian, who must face the fact that he's Satan's son, but not living up to his expectations. The sequel was not nearly as good as the Polanski movie. Source: SciFi Wire
