 In 1936, Flash Gordon had a 13-chapter run in theatrical serials. In 1954, his character came to the wonder of the small screen in a short-lived TV series with a 39-episode run. And then, Flash Gordon found new pop culture status in the 1980 movie that was notoriously bad and yet became an inexplicably enjoyable guilty pleasure for kids and adults alike.
