Wong Kar-wai and Nicole Kidman Project Named

Oriental Daily, a Hong Kong newspaper, has reported that the title or at least the working title for the Wong Kar-Wai and Nicole Kidman project will be The Lady from Shanghai. The story will of course be set in Shanghai during the 1930s.

So far the only other casting rumor which I commented on a few days back is the possiblity that Takeshi Kitano will play the "bad guy". Also Chang Suk-Ping, the art director and costume designer has arrived in the States to work on Nicole Kidman and prepare her for her role. Filming is expected to begin in Feburary most likely in Shanghai.
