Lost’s Perrineau Returns for Season 4

Harold Perrineau’s character Michael Dawson on ABC’s island mystery “Lost” left at the end of Season Two. Michael was sympathetic to some, but other fans were not as eager to embrace Michael’s character, but in the second season finale Michael betrayed Jack, Kate and Sawyer to get his son Walt along with the permission from the Others to get on a boat and leave the island. But ABC network president Stephen McPherson let the cat out of the bag to reporters that Michael’s coming back.

The news was originally intended for a big Comic-Con reveal but McPherson was pressed to give up the secret early, which he only did after contacting co-creator and executive producer Damon Lindelof to make sure it was okay to make the premature announcement. Sci Fi Wire quoted the network exec: “The show has a long history with Comic-Con, and we made the decision that the announcement should be made there,” said McPherson, before caving to the pressure to make the big news known on the spot. “We just spoke to Damon because of the fury that is going on here, and he told us we could tell you that Harold Perrineau is returning to the show.” Though this is big news, it's ambiguous at best what kind of reception his comeback will have among fans, and no details were mentioned about his return.
