Indiana Jones 4 Kicks off New Trilogy?

A rumor has begun to spread about the status of the new Indiana Jones franchise. According to IESB, Shia Labeouf has signed on to not only star as Indiana Jones Jr for part four which is being called "Indiana Jones and The City of the Gods", but he has signed on to play the role in three more films! The same can be said for Harrison Ford. Which brings up the question how much gas does Harrison have left in his tank?
This leaves me to believe that at some point Ford "may" hand off the reigns to the young Labeouf and then appear in the following films in a limited capacity. However this is still huge news for the Indiana Jones franchise. Keep in mind however that Lucasfilm has already stated that this rumor is just "internet chatter". But they are pretty well known for not being able to keep a secret very well.

Sixteen rumor-filled years after the third entry in the Indiana Jones saga, the fourth film finds series regulars Harrison Ford, Steven Spielberg, and George Lucas returning along with Sean Connery, who was introduced as Henry Jones, Sr. in 1989's Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade.

Following the continuing adventures of an aging Indiana Jones in the 1950s, the film finds Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption) assuming screenwriting duties this time around, delivering a script based on an original idea by Lucas.

Additionally, Indy's love interests from the first two films, Karen Allen and Kate Capshaw, pop up in cameo roles.
