Jerry Bruckheimer doing Lone Ranger?

According to a rumor at Collider.com Jerry Bruckheimer is planning to bring the longe ranger back to life. Reportedly he is going to bring together the same team that did Pirates of the Caribbean to make it happen. No official word or confirmation of this rumor. The question comes to mind, do westerns still work? I can not think of the last western I watched or even talked about on site. That said if anyone can pull it off its Jerry Bruckheimer. I wonder if he would cast Clint Eastwood.. haha.
