Luc Besson Producing Hitman

In a recent interview where we sat down to chat with Luc Besson one of my all time favorite directors he revealed that he has been approached by FOX to direct the upcoming HITMAN movie being developed from the hit game. Correction: He is PRODUCING the film. DOH! Thanks to Brendon for clearing it up. Ultimate Critic also wrote in to set us straight, the director is in fact Xavier Gens. It will hit theatres Oct 12th

Yeah. I have a very good relation with Fox and they have the rights of Hitman and they want to shoot the film in Europe. They called me and said, "Can you do it with us because you know Europe better than us.â€ And I said yeah. I was flattered that they thought about me and I like them a lot. They are very good guys over there.

The plot for the upcoming HITMAN movie has been revealed by IGN. The hunter becomes the hunted when 47 gets caught up in a political takeover. Both Interpol and the Russian military chase the Hitman across Eastern Europe as he tries to find out who set him up and why they're trying to take him out of the game. But the greatest threat to 47's survival may be the stirrings of his conscience and the unfamiliar emotions aroused in him by a beautiful, damaged girl. The premise of this film could work well since we know alot of other video games turned movie franchises have also excelled. Lets wait to see what happens.
