Thriller A Cruel Picture Movie Review by LukePosted by: GoonThe review you have all been waiting for, Thriller A Cruel Picture. I remember the first time I heard about this movie was when I was at Cinema Wasteland in April. They were showing sort of a bunch of clips from the movie and the one thing that I thought was awesome was that in one of the gore scenes they use a real corpse. So I thought I have to get this when its released. Now is that time.
The story starts out with a young girl playing in a park when a beggar runs up and molests her causing her some serious trauma. She is now a mute. Flash forward to about 10 years later her father tells her she has to go into town to visit a doctor. So she runs to the bus stop but misses her bus by a just a little. A man pulls up and offers her a ride. Instead of taking her to the Doctor he takes her to a restaurant and treats her like a queen. Later he takes her back to his place and drugs her several times with heroin until she is hooked. He makes her become his hooker by giving her drugs because she can't survive without them. While she is there she is raped and drugged. Until finally she snaps and decides to exact revenge on her captors and "clients". This is one of the trippiest movies I have ever seen. It really reminded me of Clockwork Orange. Maybe its the whole European backdrop but something about it just felt that way. This movie has porn, gore, drug use and much more for all your exploitation needs. Now when I say porn I mean porn. This is not for the kiddies. None of that softcore stuff either its all out there. I must add that the chick in this film is extremely hot but at the same time you feel kind of dirty for watching her get her box banged out. Mostly because she looks barely legal. I was expecting alot more gore in this film and there really isn't that much. But one scene covers it. The eyeball scalpel scene. Supposedly the director knew a local mortician and used an actual corpse for the scene. The DVD is worth buying for this scene alone. Another aspect that I found entertaining in this movie was the Shaw Brothers influence. I think it was unintentional but if you are a big Kung Fu fan like I am you will notice the training sequences. Most old school kung fu movies have training sequences and than they use those skills later on. Same thing with this movie. Frigga's character is really intense and really stands out in this movie. Throughout the entire movie she does not say one word. Which really sets a tone for the movie. The acting is no where near great but its not horrible. A nice little exploitation revenge flick for you to pull out when your buddies are around and you wanna show them something that will blow their minds. Don't forget to mention the corpse scene. Trust me they'll cringe, I know I did. All in all its not to bad. Not really what I expected but its not to bad. 8 out of 10 Review by: Luke
