Dead Girl on DVD May 15th

THE DEAD GIRL is coming to DVD on May 15, 2007.  The ensemble film, a Lakeshore Entertainment/First Look Studios production in association with Pitbull Pictures, features a cast of award-winning actors including Academy Award nominee Toni Collette, Academy Award winner Marcia Gay Harden, Golden Globe winner James Franco, BAFTA nominee Mary Beth Hurt, and acclaimed stars Giovanni Ribisi, Josh Brolin, Kerry Washington and Brittany Murphy.  THE DEAD GIRL will be available on DVD on May 15, 2007.

THE DEAD GIRL, written and directed by Moncrieff, is a psychological drama featuring five interlocking stories about seemingly unrelated characters whose lives converge around the murder of a young woman (played by Brittany Murphy).  Featuring an exceptional ensemble cast, the film is a spellbinding mystery that pieces together the puzzle of the dead girl's life and the chain of events that led to her fate.

As in her first film, BLUE CAR, Moncrieff creates multidimensional portraits of women as they seesaw emotionally through a tangle of conflicting desires and fears.  Riveting and ultimately heartbreaking, THE DEAD GIRL confirms the promise of BLUE CAR, and heralds the arrival of Moncrieff as a major American independent filmmaker.
