Shades of Gray Movie Review by Luke

A couple weeks ago I was PMed by a director that had alittle Indie film he wanted me to check out. He had seen my views on the board and thought this movie would be great for me to see. Man was he right.

The story starts out with a bunch of friends who are determined to make their buddy pay for what he has done to them. Somehow they ended up stealing his little black book that revealed how good the sex was with all the women he has slept with. Unfprtunately for him he is currently in a serious relationship with his girlfriend with whom they are threatning to send the book to. The only way for him to save his butt is for him to stop being a jackass and feel sorry for how he has treated his friends.

Thats the story in a nutshell. Basically this is one hillarious tale of friendship, betrayl, and sex. What else does it need? Oh yeah did I mention that this movie in general kicks ass?

Obivously taking a page from Kevin Smiths book but he also has much more to it. While Kevin Smith likes to keep the story in one place as much as possible and focuses on dialogue this movie really moves around. There are alot of prop gags and just all out great dialogue as well.

Another great factor that this movie has going is the music he has chosen. It fits the movie so perfectly. Unfortunately this could be the one thing that would hold the movie back as well. Being that most of the music is copyrighted if he ever decided to put this film on DVD and sell it (Which I highly suggest he does) he would have to change the music or pay for the songs.

Amazingly all the actors in this movie are great. I was really surprised. I expected a couple of bad actors but they all did a great job. I think it was really funny that he played on every single stereotype in the book too. The fat kid, the jackass skinny kid, the angry latino, the badass redneck, trust me I could go on.

All in all this is a great movie. One of the best I have ever seen. The comedy in this movie is better than most big budget movies that are being financed by Hollywood. Once again I will let him know that he should really try and get these movies out there. Don't even try Hollywood I'm talkin Sundance, Toronto Film Festival, Fantasia. Get this movie out there! Its really a must see for any
Indie, comedy,.. hell everyone should see this. The best part is that it is free and online for everyone to see. So what are you waiting for? Check it out! 9 out of 10
