Bruce Lee TV Show in the Works

China's national broadcaster has just started filming a new 40 part mini-series titled "The Legend of Bruce Lee". The shooting began last weekend in Bruce Lees hometown of Shunde in Guangdong province in southern China. I have always been a huge fan of Bruce Lee and when news pops up about an upcoming project based on the man I have to check it out.
 
Apparently this project looks to be on the right track casting Chen Guokun to play Lee. Chen was made popular when he appeared in Stephen Chow's Kung Fu Hustle. The TV series is said to be in production to promote Chinese culture in the run-up to next year's Beijing Summer Olympics. The series will then air in 2008, the year Beijing hosts the Olympic Games.
 
Bruce Lee was born in 1940 in San Francisco, later he moved with his family to the small town of Shunde in Southern China. Lee died in 1973 at age 32 from swelling of the brain. His action films include Fists of Fury and Enter the Dragon.
