Exclusive: Land of the Dead Updates from Twisted Nightmare WeekendPosted by:Want to be in
Land of the Dead? Don't count on it. Yesterday, I attended Twisted
Nightmare Weekend where I spoke with a couple actors from Dawn of the
Dead, Leonard Lies (Machete Zombie), Clayton Hill (Sweater
Zombie), Sharon Ceccatti-Hill (Nuse Zombie), and Tom Savini.
According to the cast they had all tried to get into the movie, but
because the movie is shooting in Canada they will not be able to appear.
Leonard Lies told me he had been talking with the special effects guys at KNB and that he had a whole concept planned out. Then a few days later they moved the film to Canada. So he talked to Romero but he stated that it doesn't look like he will be appearing. The Hills also stated that they had did the same with no luck. Lies was really down about the whole thing. How the movie industry is all for the green and that Romero was really disappointed that the filming was being done Canada. Apparently to work on the film in Canada you have to have a work permit otherwise they cannot use you. Leonard also said that they will be using the people provided by Canada. That it has something to do with the tax credits and thats where they will save a huge part of their money. Unfotunately thats the way it goes folks. I wanted to appear in the movie as much as the next guy but right now it looks like a no go.If previous stars can't get into the films for a small zombie cameo, I wouldn't count on getting a part. Oh, yes and Tom Savini said about four words to me and walked away. Its sad really, I always thought he would be a really cool guy to talk to. Unfortunately hes not. If your ever going to a convention that he is going to attend don't count on talking to him. As a matter of fact walk up to his table and say "Your effects suck." and walk away. Let him see how it feels. The opinions expressed in this belong exclusively to Luke aka Goon and do not reflect those of the rest of the staff at Movies Online.
